Porch Webcam

Shoreside Porch Webcam. This is a small camera installed in the corner of our back porch between the kitchen and garage. Sometimes you'll see us having a BBQ. More often you don't see much but branches, because the bushes haven't been trimmed. This cam should always be on.

Hardware: Sun Ultra 2 with Sun Video card (SUNWrtvc) and Color XCam from X10.

Taipei Webcam

The primary webcam in my Taipei second home! This camera is on most of the time.

This uses an E.Sense CB-M01 USB camera on a custom-built P4-2.53ghz desktop.

Taipei Two Webcam

The second webcam in my Taipei second home! The camera quality is pretty poor, so I will try to replace it sometime. This camera should always be on.

Hardware: Sun Ultra 1-170E with Sun Video card (SUNWrtvc) and Color XCam from X10.

New Laptop Webcam

RETIRED: This cam was retired to bring back the New Taipei Cam after the logitech went away.

The laptop camera is back (all new equipment)! This camera is only on occasionally. It also varies it's location.

This camera is an EZ Sense CyberCam on a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop.

Taipei Webcam

RETIRED: My sister-in-law bought the camera used on this one and took it with her when she moved to London.

Webcam in my Taipei second home! This camera is only on occasionally.

This camera uses a Logitech QuickCam. It is a little flaky, and sometimes turns a greenish tint for no apparent reason.

Kitchen Webcam

RETIRED: Unfortunately the camera on this box died. Most of this system was ressurected as the Porch Cam.

This webcam is located in the office adjacent the kitchen in our townhouse. It usually is pointed at the kitchen but sometimes will point to the office or the patio, or somewhere else. This webcam is usually on all the time.

Hardware: Generic Pentium 133 computer, Winnov Videum VO ISA video i/o card, generic NTSC computer camera.

Laptop Webcam

RETIRED: I gave up my office when I started living most of the time in Taipei. The camera got packed in a box somewhere when I vacated.

This webcam is hooked up to the laptop, so it technically could be anywhere, but is usually in Jim's home office. It's up whenever the laptop is on the net. The camera quality isn't so great, but it is compact and cheap ($49), and only needs one cable.

Hardware: Sony VAIO PCG-735 Pentium 233-MMX laptop computer, Ezonics EZ-Cam USB.
