Here are directions a maps for getting to our meeting place in downtown Monterey. These maps are from YAHOO! Maps.
First here is a map of the whole area. When you get to Salinas, you will be
exiting onto westbound Highway 68. The exit should be marked "Monterey
Peninsula". On the map below it is shown as "Salinas Monterey Highway".
In this next map, you can see Highway 68 as it enters the peninsula. Follow
the signs to southbound Highway 1.
Once on Highway 1, you will exit immediately onto Fremont Street.
Immediately after exiting, turn right at the stop light onto Camino Aguajito.
At the next light, turn left onto Del Monte Avenue.
Once on Del Monte Avenue, stay in the left-most lanes. When you get to the Washington Street intersection, the right-most lanes and most traffic will veer off to the left through a tunnel and on to Cannery Row. If you end up in a tunnel, you went the wrong way. You want to go straight on Del Monte which turns into a one-way road. You want to move as quickly as possible into the left-most lane.
In the next two blocks there are two public garages. You want to enter the one in the second block. On the Del Monte Avenue side of this garage there is an Indian restaurant on the second story attached to the side of the garage. I will meet you on street level next to the restaurant.
The first garage is a bit cheaper but you need exact change
in quarters. If you can bring a bunch of quarters then try this, but
otherwise use the second. There are multiple entrances, so you can go
around the block if you miss it.

East Custom House
615 Spaces- Located on Washington Street between Franklin Street and Del Monte Avenue. (Coin operated ticket dispenser; quarters only) Good parking for Fisherman's Wharf and the Marina. Best parking for Downtown. Handicap parking available.
West Custom House
241 Spaces- Located on Tyler Street between Franklin Street and Del Monte Avenue. Good parking for Fisherman's Wharf and the Marina. Best parking for Downtown. Handicap parking available.
